Help on the way for BC

Parks Canada helps fight British Columbia forest fires:
To help fight the forest fires currently raging in British Columbia, Parks Canada is lending its support and expertise. At the request of the Canadian Interagency Forest Fire Centre (CIFFC), a group of 20 forest firefighters and a forest fire management team will be deployed in the province.

We have had 3 times the area burned so far this year than the average for the last 10 years. You can read more here.

More pics from our December conference and dinner

Welcome to the new year.

We hope you had a great Christmas and new year, thanks to all the dealers who made it to our 2009 conference.
It was our largest turnout so far, with around 220 dealers and staff over the 3 days. We also had a fantastic time playing tour-guide for those who stayed over the weekend as well.
Special thanks to our international dealers who made the trip from Sweden, Germany, England, Australia, Brazil, and of course USA, we hope you can make it back soon.
Here are our staff and some dealers who arrived early on the first day, just about to get under way. We have a lot more photos from the 3 days which I hope to post here later. Stay tuned !

Anual dealer meeting confirmed

We have made firm bookings for a conference venue, catering, and dinner nights for December 9, 10, and 11th. (We also have dinners and sightseeing arranged for Saturday and Sunday for those who wish to stay over the weekend).
Thanks to all those who responded, we have just over 200 confirmed guests so far but it's still not too late to add your place or bring extra staff.
We will have more international dealers this year from Germany, Sweden, UK, France, Belgium and USA as well as our newest dealers from Australia and Brazil !
It it going to be a great 3 day meet-up so get your tickets booked.
If you need help booking accommodation please call Samantha or Minetta and they will book rooms at the Sheraton where most guests will be staying. They will also arrange airport transfers for you on arrival.

Best wishes Reg

Reg Walters has retired. One of the 3 founding partners of Yukon Industries retired last week.
Reg was an inspiration to all of us and knew the industry like no other we have seen. We had a nice lunch and Reg was presented with a gold watch, a special engraved soda bottle and yes he kept the BMW too.
After years of having Reg around we are really going to miss him and we wish him all the best in his retirement.

Anual Yukon Industries meeting

Our anual dealers get-together / conference / meeting / drinks in Vancouver will most likely be over 3 days this year, Wednesday Dec-9 to Friday Dec-11.
Check your calenders and please get back to me, Samantha if you have problems with these days. I will be emailing and calling all dealers and agents over the next few weeks to try and get a better idea on attendence.

Germany just around the corner

I can't say who just yet be Yukon Industries are in the final stages of signing an exclusive deal with a large retail chain in Germany and Austria. No, this is not their picture but I'm sure it all looks just as nice!

[UPDATE] We have finalized the deal and we are happy to say that at least 15 Yukon Industries products will be available in over 28 retail outlets across Germany and Austria by late this year through 2 major retail chains.

Forsters on board

Thanks for the photo's guys. This is from Forsters in Buffalo NY who have been taking care of most of west New York state. Brian and Emma have recently added our our range of log splitters, chainsaws and munchers to their store line up. Over the past year they have embarked on a great advertising campaign including sponsoring their local football team. Thanks to this (and hopefully Yukon!) they have seen their business grow significantly over the past 12 months in a time when many businesses are struggling to remain steady. Well done team, we have many more products coming your way.

Happy New Year

Happy new year to all of our dealers and staff. It was great meeting up with all of our old dealers and so many new faces who joined us in 2008!
Those who braved the unusually cold weather this winter and made it to our annual conference were greeted with our first white Christmas in more than 10 years. It snowed a lot in December and the city was covered, although it wasn't enough to impress Victor, our dealer from Sweden!

A White Christmas

For those of you who don't know, we have had some pretty cold weather so far. It's been a long time since we had a white Christmas but we may be lucky this year.
It snowed over the weekend and the city is white with snow! I hope it stays for at least the next week, long enough to let our dealers visiting for our annual Christmas meeting see our lovely city in white!

Major deal with Carlsson Skogsmaskiner Sweden

Yukon Industries are proud to announce we have just signed a major deal with the Swedish Forest Services to supply chainsaws and log splitters through our first Scandinavian dealer Carlsson Skogsmaskiner in Gothenburg Sweden. After much back and fourth in the 3-way negotiations Carlsson have signed an exclusive 5 year deal to supply and maintain Yukon machinery to the Swedish Forest Service nation wide. We are looking forward to long term relations with our first mainland European dealer to supply a wide range of goods in Sweden as well as being our main dealer for Scandinavia.

100th Dealer is in California.

We have just signed our 100th dealer, Brent's Commercial of Santa Cruz in California. Welcome aboard, we hope you can all make it back this Christmas for our annual meeting (and a few drinks over dinner).

Jen left us for a 6 month break 2 weeks ago to have a baby. Jessica was born 2 days ago and mother and baby are doing fine. We all wish you well Jenny, the pictures are wonderful, can't wait until you drop by.

Welcome Europe !

We welcome our first dealer across the pond !
Sampsons Machinery in Sheffield UK is our first dealer in Europe and will initially supply all individual orders and supply smaller dealers throughout the British Isles.
Sampsons have a 1200 square meter warehouse in Sheffield as well as retail outlets in Sheffield and Manchester, and have been selling and delivering mowers, mulchers, log splitters and other light machinery throughout the UK for over 9 years. ISO 9001 arrives.

For several months we have be putting new and improved business systems in place to comply with ISO 9001 and it has paid off.
We are now happy and proud to say we are ISO9001 compliant! (I am sure many of you have heard we were moving toward this recently)
What does this mean for our dealers?
Many large companies and nearly all government departments require equipment originating from, and backed up by, an ISO accredited supplier. This means we (along with our dealers) can now supply with confidence to such companies and government departments who require products from certified suppliers.
Certificate details and copies will be mailed out to all dealers over the next few days.

Christmas 2007 dealers meeting

Thank's to all those who could make it to our anual dealers meeting this year. We had a great time at lunch meeting with all our dealers from across the country and so many who came up from the US.
In the afternoon we all went to the Top Of Vancouver revolving restaurant for a few drinks and a great dinner. - Happy New Year!
